Born into a family of sculptors, Petyr was so inspired by his father’s heavenly depictions that he took up the vows of truth, cleanliness and chains (the mala beads actually crosswise about his torso). Petyr is a practitioner within the Kohlorian Brotherhood in Edgewater, responsible for guarding the premises and taking donations, but he also runs a side business dealing in marble trinkets in order to raise funds for the faith (and a little for himself). As a loyal follower of Petra, he spends his free time with the poor in the lower city, doing his best to resolve fights between peasants (preferably through words) and protect them from abuse. On particularly peaceful days he helps the town’s masons and relishes in the task with a small amount of guilt. The symbol of Petra, a round shield, is tattooed atop each of his hands. Petyr fears that he one day may have to step beyond the walls of the city to ward off greater threats than in-fighting amongst the poor. Petyr still writes to his family and keeps good relations with the guild that his family belonged to.

Petyr’s vows compel him to wash daily, constrict himself with signs of his faith, and always tell the truth. Fortunately for Petyr, his faith does not limit his interest in material goods, for he is a merchant and a bit of a gambler.

The Beghard Family: Petyr’s father is Chernin, and most would think he took a vow of silence, but he is in fact just quiet. Alethra, Petyr’s mother, is boisterous and deals more with guild matters since her husband is always in the workshop. Petyr’s one sister, Tana, is an apprentice to Shageon the Loremaster to study under the wizard and Golem Crafter Devrill somewhere in Grakken Wood, which she accepted. Now always very busy and distracted but always optimistic about work, as she gets to work on the golems which the other students do not.
